Irrigation Sprinkler Valves

Sprinkler Valves for Residential and Commercial Irrigation Systems

Horizon understands irrigation valves are the heart of an irrigation system, allowing homeowners and landscapers the ability to control the water flow to sprinklers. They come in a variety of sizes and styles, including globe/angle valves, anti-siphon valves, as well as plastic commercial and brass commercial.

The most commonly used sprinkler valve for irrigation is the globe/angle (angle has the inlet on the bottom). Since it does not incorporate a backflow preventer, you will need to install one separately. “Jar Top” bonnets are a newer feature for this type of valve and provide easy access without the need for tools. All glove/angle irrigation valves are available in multiple configurations: female NPT, slip, male x male, and male x barb.

Anti-siphon valves offer simple operation and trouble-free performance without the need to install a separate backflow preventer. Install anti-siphon valves in locations where city codes require the use of a pressure vacuum breaker (PVB) or a double-check valve to protect against backflow.

Commercial-grade valves are an excellent choice for the most demanding sprinkler systems. Hunter’s ICV valve can consistently operate at up to 220 PSI and continue working through difficult circumstances like high velocities, fluctuating flow rates, and challenging water conditions. Rain Bird’s PESB incorporates patented scrubber technology for reliable performance in dirty water irrigation applications.

Horizon also offers pressure regulators from several manufacturers. The Irritrol Omnireg is well known in the irrigation industry and enables the user to quickly and accurately set the exact downstream pressure required for any application. The Rain Bird PRS-Dial is an excellent means of regulating outlet pressure at the valve regardless of incoming pressure fluctuations. Hunter’s Accu-Sync is a simple pressure regulator designed to be compatible with all of Hunter’s control valves.
