JCM Ductile Iron Couplings provide and maintain several field proven design features which are being compromised by todays coupling manufacturers. Here are Features which allow the JCM Ductile Iron Couplings to provide the superior working characteristics economics needed for todays water systems.

  • JCM Ductile Iron Couplings (210, 211, 212) are cast with longest middle rings available in its class. These longer middle rings allow for more space between pipe ends and accommodates field cutting miscalculations which speeds installation time. Shortened middle rings permit excessive pipe deflection, increasing the change of gasket failure.
  • JCM Ductile Iron Couplings provide the maximum number of bolts which as become the industry standard through generations of field proven designs. Strategically placed bolt centers increase the coupling's pressure holding capability by providing even compression of the gasket into the middle ring. Bolt placement also eliminates gasket misalignment and gasket failure.
  • JCM Ductile Iron Couplings are heavily cast of quality ductile iron. This significant weight provides greater safety factor and a reliable connection to last the life of the pipeline. JCM castings experience close inspections and are consistent to casting design criteria.
  • One coupling fits both cast iron and A/C class 150 in 4", 6" and 8" sizes. One coupling does the job in most commonly used sizes. This eliminates the need carrying two couplings of expensive transition couplings. Just a simple, economical change of gaskets accommodates most types of pipe. JCM also offers an oversized series of coupling iron to join oversized cast iron and Class 200 A/C to the more exacting diameters of pipe being manufactured today.

MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS - JCM Ductile Iron Couplings


SLEEVE AND FLANGES: Ductile Iron ASTM A536
GASKETS: Specially compounded new rubber polymer for superior shelf life and resistance to permanent set. Recommended for water, salt solutions, mild acids and bases.
BOLTS: Corrosion resistant, high strength low alloy bolts and nuts (AWWA C-111, ANSI A21.11). Optional Stainless Steel, 18-8 Type 304.
FINISH: Heavy coating of corrosion resistant metal primer. Optional Fusion Applied Epoxy Coating available.
